Come run with us!
At Pacers Track Team, we welcome athletes of all experience levels — from first-time runners to competitive multi-sport athletes.
Through structured training, repetition, and positive competition, kids build real confidence, strength, and race readiness. Track provides powerful cross-training for soccer, lacrosse, basketball, and other sports, improving speed, endurance, and overall athletic performance.
Athletes are also introduced to the field event of shot put, learning strong fundamentals along the way.
Most importantly, our runners leave practice proud of their effort — and excited to come back.
USATF and local meets
Coaches are members of the USATF. Meets will be coordinated with the AAU, USATF and independent school schedules.
Coaches
Laura and Drew Scecina are a husband-wife coaching team with a shared passion for youth development and running.
Laura holds a B.A. in Psychology and a B.S.N. in Nursing and has been a Registered Nurse since 2007. She has also taught nursing programs at the high school level, bringing both clinical experience and an educational background to her coaching.
Drew earned his Master’s degree in Education and has been an Elementary school Teacher since 2011. His experience in the classroom allows him to connect naturally with children of all ages.
Cross-country and track & field training have been lifelong passions for both Laura and Drew, as they competed throughout high school and college. Some of their most meaningful childhood memories were formed through these programs, and they are committed to creating that same positive, confidence-building, and goal-oriented experience for every team member.
Pacers Track Team provides structured, progressive training in a positive team environment.
Athletes build speed, endurance, strength, and race confidence—while learning how to compete with composure and sportsmanship.
For our experienced younger group and athletes 9-12, track becomes a powerful tool for measurable growth. At this stage, runners are ready to refine sprint mechanics, learn pacing strategy, and develop race execution skills.
Many of our athletes see noticeable improvement in their race times within a single season.
There’s something special about running together. We train as a team and encourage one another. Younger runners learn by watching older teammates.
We’re proud to create a place where runners of all levels feel supported and challenged. We look forward to welcoming your family this season.
The sky’s the limit
We are all born with the ability to do great things. When given the opportunity to be yourself, and feel accepted and comfortable-this type of nurturing environment, along with meaningful and skilled teaching, can raise children to great heights. Kids can find untapped potential and talent they never realized was present. This is the stuff that makes children soar.
